The Lanvin sneakers craze

Being a lurker at fashion oriented forums like superfuture the first thing you notice is that one can never have enough jeans or sneakers.

And the most sought after sneaker of the day (and the season) is no other than the Lanvin hi top. It was featured in numerous model outfits and managed to catch a steer in no time, shining efortlessly amongst dressy clothes and providing an unpretentious street smartish look.

By updating the all time fave Converse Chucks and by using luxurious materials like silk (don't forget that we are talking about sneakers!) it become an instant hit selling at around $670 in the few department and consignment stores that carry it.

While the world is waiting for the next hot thing (with the absence of Hedi Slimane being felt a lot more than before) it seems that Lanvin is gaining more and more positive buzz.

Bravo to Alber Elbaz and to Lucas Ossendrijver (formerly of Dior Homme) for managing to give a fresh breath to a classic item.
